The short answer
Which codes you need depends on the remote in your hand, not just on the television. This page lists every verified code we hold for Samsung TVs, grouped by the remote that uses them — One For All's published Contour TV list and Jasco's four GE code-list versions. Find your remote below and work down its codes in order.
Every code below comes from a manufacturer's own published list — One For All's for the Contour TV, and Jasco's for GE remotes — with the source document linked beneath each table so you can check any code against it.
If your remote is neither a One For All Contour TV nor a GE remote, the codes on this page will not program it — every manufacturer indexes its own table. Use the search method instead, which needs no list: it walks the remote's own codes until the television responds.

Codes are only meaningful to the remote whose table they come from. A GE code will not program a One For All remote and vice versa, and GE's own four versions — CL3 to CL6, printed inside the battery compartment — are not interchangeable with each other either. Always use the block that names your remote.

All 38 unique codes, shortest first. Useful if your remote is not listed above — most remotes share large parts of their tables, so a code from a neighbouring brand is often worth a try.
Anynet+ can make a working code look broken
Samsung televisions from 2016 onwards run Anynet+, Samsung's implementation of HDMI-CEC. With a soundbar or set-top box connected over HDMI, a power command can travel down the HDMI chain and switch off something other than the television, or appear to do nothing while the set waits on a connected device.
Turn Anynet+ off in Settings → General → External Device Manager while you pair the remote, then turn it back on. The code you store is unaffected and the test becomes unambiguous.
The Frame, Serif and other lifestyle models
These models drop into art mode rather than switching fully off, so the usual test — press POWER and watch the screen go dark — reads as a failure when the code is actually correct.
Test with the volume keys instead. If the volume overlay appears on screen, the code has taken.
When it doesn't work
The TV switches off but volume does nothing
Volume is what separates a near match from an exact one. Move to the next Samsung code in the list rather than starting again — the entries are ordered, so the next one is the most likely fix.
None of the seven codes work
Check that the remote really is a One For All Contour TV; these codes belong to that model's table. If it is, use the search method, which reaches codes the printed list does not include.
It worked, then stopped
A television software update does not change its infrared receiver, so this points to the remote losing its stored setting. Re-enter the code; if it will not hold, reset the remote and program it again.

What is the universal remote code for a Samsung TV?
On a One For All Contour TV, the published codes for Samsung are 2051, 3131, 3970, 0556, 4150, 4468 and 0625, tried in that order. Codes for other remote brands are different and are not published here unless we can source them from the manufacturer.
Why does the same code appear under Samsung and Philips?
Because a code identifies a set of infrared commands rather than a brand. In One For All's own list, 0556 is given for Samsung, LG, Philips and Hisense — those sets all answer to a shared command set.
How do I program a universal remote to a Samsung TV without the code?
Use the search method. Put the remote into setup mode, press the device key, then hold POWER while the remote steps through its internal table roughly one code per second. Release POWER the moment the television switches off and store the code it stopped on.
Will a universal remote control a Samsung smart TV's menus?
Power, volume, channel, input and the arrow keys work on virtually all Samsung sets. The microphone and ambient-mode keys on Samsung's own remote travel over Bluetooth and cannot be reproduced by any infrared code.
Do I have to re-enter the code after changing the batteries?
On almost every modern remote, no. Codes are held in non-volatile memory and survive a battery change. If power and volume stop working immediately after a battery swap, re-enter the code — a few older models do lose their programming when left without cells for several minutes.
