What is the universal remote code for a Philips TV?

On a One For All Contour TV, One For All's published Philips codes are 0556, 2800, 3614, 4209, 1887, 1506, 3678, 2813, 2768, in that order. RCA and GE remotes use their own lists, shown on this page by version or revision.

Which button do I program for a Philips TV?

Follow the steps for your remote shown beside its codes. On GE remotes, Jasco says any device button can be programmed to control any compatible device.

Do I have to re-enter the code after changing the batteries?

It depends on the remote. RCA's D771 manual, for example, notes that reprogramming may be required after the batteries are replaced, so write your code down once it works.
