The short answer
Which codes you need depends on the remote in your hand, not just on the television. This page lists every verified code we hold for Hisense TVs, grouped by the remote that uses them — One For All's published Contour TV list and Jasco's four GE code-list versions. Find your remote below and work down its codes in order.
Hisense has one of the longest entries in the whole list, which tells you something useful: the brand has shipped a lot of different hardware in a short time, and a single code is unlikely to cover your set on the first try.
If your remote is neither a One For All Contour TV nor a GE remote, the codes on this page will not program it — every manufacturer indexes its own table. Use the search method instead, which needs no list: it walks the remote's own codes until the television responds.

Codes are only meaningful to the remote whose table they come from. A GE code will not program a One For All remote and vice versa, and GE's own four versions — CL3 to CL6, printed inside the battery compartment — are not interchangeable with each other either. Always use the block that names your remote.

All 28 unique codes, shortest first. Useful if your remote is not listed above — most remotes share large parts of their tables, so a code from a neighbouring brand is often worth a try.
Hisense and Toshiba share hardware
Hisense acquired Toshiba's television business in 2018 and builds the sets sold under the Toshiba name in most markets. If none of the thirteen Hisense codes work, the Toshiba entry from the same list is the obvious next place to look.
The relationship runs both ways, which is why a recent Toshiba-badged set often answers to a Hisense code.
VIDAA, Roku and Google TV models
Hisense ships three different smart platforms depending on market and model year — its own VIDAA system, Roku TV and Google TV. None of them changes the infrared command set, which belongs to the panel electronics, so these codes apply across all three.
What changes is what the keys appear to do. On Roku models the input key returns to the home screen, and on VIDAA the menu key opens the VIDAA settings panel. Neither indicates a wrong code.
When it doesn't work
Power works but the volume overlay never appears
Check whether the set is routing audio to an external system over ARC or optical. A Hisense passing sound to a soundbar ignores its own volume commands.
The remote works, then stops after standby
Hisense sets use a fast-start standby that can briefly ignore infrared while waking. Wait a few seconds after any power change before concluding the code has been lost.

What is the universal remote code for a Hisense TV?
On a One For All Contour TV there are thirteen published Hisense codes: 4539, 2399, 4348, 2037, 4353, 1363, 2341, 2098, 4728, 0208, 0556, 2197 and 3296. Work down them in order.
Will Toshiba codes work on a Hisense TV?
They are worth trying. Hisense has built Toshiba-branded televisions since 2018 and the command sets overlap, so the Toshiba entry from the same list is the natural fallback.
Do Hisense Roku and VIDAA TVs use different remote codes?
No. The smart platform controls the interface, not the infrared receiver, so the same codes work across VIDAA, Roku TV and Google TV models.
Do I have to re-enter the code after changing the batteries?
On almost every modern remote, no. Codes are held in non-volatile memory and survive a battery change. If power and volume stop working immediately after a battery swap, re-enter the code — a few older models do lose their programming when left without cells for several minutes.
