HDMI-CEC on Vizio TVs

Amazon lists Vizio's name for HDMI-CEC as CEC. Google describes CEC as letting devices connected by HDMI be controlled with one remote, so check this setting if HDMI-connected equipment reacts to your TV's remote.

Check you're using the list for your remote's model, version or revision. Jasco looks GE codes up by the CL version under the batteries, and RCA by the revision number under the battery.

Some buttons work, others don't

Jasco says some codes operate only a few of a device's functions, and RCA says different codes give different levels of functionality. Try the next code in your remote's list.

The GE remote's light doesn't behave as described

Jasco says this is most commonly caused by bad batteries, even brand-new ones. Try a different set before changing codes.

What is the universal remote code for a Vizio TV?

It depends on your remote. This page lists every verified Vizio TV code by remote, from RCA and GE's published lists, grouped by version or revision.

Which button do I program for a Vizio TV?

Follow the steps for your remote shown beside its codes. On GE remotes, Jasco says any device button can be programmed to control any compatible device.

Do I have to re-enter the code after changing the batteries?

It depends on the remote. RCA's D771 manual, for example, notes that reprogramming may be required after the batteries are replaced, so write your code down once it works.
