The short answer
Which codes you need depends on the remote in your hand, not just on the television. This page lists every verified code we hold for Toshiba TVs, grouped by the remote that uses them — One For All's published Contour TV list and Jasco's four GE code-list versions. Find your remote below and work down its codes in order.
Toshiba is the most tangled brand in any code list, because the name has changed hands. Sets sold before roughly 2018 are Toshiba's own engineering; most sold since are built by Hisense under the Toshiba name.
If your remote is neither a One For All Contour TV nor a GE remote, the codes on this page will not program it — every manufacturer indexes its own table. Use the search method instead, which needs no list: it walks the remote's own codes until the television responds.

Codes are only meaningful to the remote whose table they come from. A GE code will not program a One For All remote and vice versa, and GE's own four versions — CL3 to CL6, printed inside the battery compartment — are not interchangeable with each other either. Always use the block that names your remote.

Point the remote at the device and make sure the device is switched on.

Press and release the device key (TV, AUD, DVD or SAT).

Enter the 4-digit code from the list. The indicator blinks once per digit.

Press POWER. If the device turns off, press SET once to lock the code in.

Two eras of Toshiba, two sets of codes to try
Hisense acquired Toshiba's television business in 2018, and televisions sold under the Toshiba name in most markets since then are built by Hisense. The infrared command sets converged accordingly.
So if none of the seven Toshiba codes work on a recent set, try the Hisense entry from the same list — 4539, 2399, 4348 and the rest. This crossover runs in both directions and is the single most useful thing to know about this brand.
CEC Control and the disappearing power button
Toshiba's HDMI-CEC implementation is branded CEC Control and is enabled by default on several models. With a soundbar or console attached, a power command can pass down the HDMI chain and switch off the wrong device.
Switch CEC Control off while you pair the remote, then switch it back on.
When it doesn't work
No Toshiba code works on a recent set
Your television is probably Hisense-built. Try the Hisense codes from the same list before assuming the remote is at fault — this is the expected outcome for sets sold from 2018 onwards in most markets.
The remote switches off the soundbar instead of the TV
CEC Control is passing the command down the HDMI chain. Disable it in the television's settings while pairing, confirm the code, then re-enable it.

What is the universal remote code for a Toshiba TV?
On a One For All Contour TV the published Toshiba codes are 1508, 2676, 2732, 0650, 2108, 1037 and 0195, in that order.
Why do Hisense codes work on my Toshiba TV?
Because Hisense bought Toshiba's television business in 2018 and builds the sets sold under the Toshiba name in most markets. The infrared command sets converged, so the two brands' codes now overlap.
Do Toshiba Fire TV models work with a universal remote?
Yes, for power, volume, mute, input and the directional keys. The Fire TV interface has no conventional menu, so the menu key doing nothing is expected rather than a wrong code.
Do I have to re-enter the code after changing the batteries?
On almost every modern remote, no. Codes are held in non-volatile memory and survive a battery change. If power and volume stop working immediately after a battery swap, re-enter the code — a few older models do lose their programming when left without cells for several minutes.
