Universal remote codes for LG TVs
The short answer
The LG TV codes on this page come from RCA, One For All and GE's published lists, grouped by remote. Find your remote's model, version or revision in the battery compartment, then try that list's LG codes in order. If you have LG's Magic Remote, it pairs with the TV instead of using a code.
Codes belong to the remote, not the equipment: each remote maker publishes its own list, and a code from one list won't program another maker's remote. Use the block below that names your remote.

Counted inside each remote's own list. Of the 168 LG code entries listed under 10 brands or fewer, these brands share the most. If your remote's list has no working LG code, these brands' codes in the same list are the ones worth trying.
Pairing an LG Magic Remote needs no code
Turn the TV on, wait about 20 seconds, point the Magic Remote at the TV and press the scroll wheel (OK). A message on screen confirms it's paired.
To unpair, hold BACK and SETTINGS together for at least 5 seconds. The remote's light blinks and a message appears; press the wheel (OK) to pair it again.

When it doesn't work
No code from your remote's list works
Check you're using the list for your remote's model, version or revision. Jasco looks GE codes up by the CL version under the batteries, and RCA by the revision number under the battery.
Some buttons work, others don't
Jasco says some codes operate only a few of a device's functions, and RCA says different codes give different levels of functionality. Try the next code in your remote's list.
The GE remote's light doesn't behave as described
Jasco says this is most commonly caused by bad batteries, even brand-new ones. Try a different set before changing codes.

What is the universal remote code for a LG TV?
On a One For All Contour TV, One For All's published LG codes are 1840, 2182, 1423, 4787, 4119, 0714, 0556, in that order. RCA and GE remotes use their own lists, shown on this page by version or revision.
Which button do I program for a LG TV?
Follow the steps for your remote shown beside its codes. On GE remotes, Jasco says any device button can be programmed to control any compatible device.
How do I pair an LG Magic Remote?
Turn the TV on, wait about 20 seconds, point the remote at the TV and press the scroll wheel (OK). LG shows a confirmation message when it's paired.
Do I have to re-enter the code after changing the batteries?
It depends on the remote. RCA's D771 manual, for example, notes that reprogramming may be required after the batteries are replaced, so write your code down once it works.
