Vizio TV codes

Vizio codes come from Jasco's published GE lists, and which ones apply depends on the CL version printed inside your remote's battery compartment — CL3, CL4, CL5 or CL6. Find that label first, then use the block for it below; codes from the wrong version will not work.

Insignia TV codes

Insignia has one of the longest entries in Jasco's GE lists — twenty codes in the CL6 list alone. Find the CL version printed inside your remote's battery compartment first, then work down that version's block; codes do not carry between versions.

Frequently asked

What if none of the codes work?

Use the auto-search method: hold SET, press the device key, then hold POWER until the device switches off. The remote scans every code in its table for you, one per second, and stops where you release the button.

Do I need a 4-digit or 5-digit code?

Most TVs use 4-digit codes. 5-digit codes are standard on RCA remotes, the GE 24993 generation and many cable boxes. Count the digits your remote accepts before the indicator clears — entering the wrong length fails silently.

How do I know which device button to press?

Match the remote button to the device type — TV, AV, BD or SAT. The matching button must be selected before you enter any code, because it decides which part of the remote's code table is used.

Are these codes the same for any remote?

No. Codes vary by remote brand and model. Confirm your remote first — a Samsung code from a One For All list will not program a GE remote, because the numbers address different internal tables.

Where do I find my remote's model number?

On the label inside the battery compartment. It is usually printed as a short alphanumeric code such as URC 1210, 33709 or RCR503BR, and it determines which code table applies to you.

Will a universal remote control a smart TV's apps?

It controls power, volume, channel, input and the arrow keys, which is enough to navigate most smart TV interfaces. Voice keys and dedicated app-launch buttons live on the TV's own Bluetooth remote and cannot be reproduced over infrared.
