How to pair a universal remote
The short answer
Hold SET until the indicator stays lit, press the device key, enter the code for your remote model, then press POWER to test it. If the device switches off, press SET once more to store the code.
Nearly every universal remote pairs one of three ways. Try direct code entry first — it is the fastest when you already know the code for your remote.
The other two need no code list at all, which makes them the answer whenever your remote's printed list does not cover your equipment.
Method 1 — Direct code entry
The fastest route when you already have the code for your remote model. About twenty seconds from start to stored.

Method 2 — Auto code search
Works with no code list at all, on any brand the remote supports. Slower, but it cannot be defeated by a missing or out-of-date list.

Method 3 — Brand scan
Narrows the search to a single manufacturer, so it finishes in seconds rather than minutes. Use it whenever you know the brand but not the code.

Each press tries the next code for that brand only.

Which pairing method should I try first?
Direct code entry, if you have the code for your remote model — it takes about twenty seconds. Use brand scan when you know the manufacturer but not the code, and full auto-search only when the device is unlisted or rebadged.
How long should I hold the SET button?
Until the indicator light stays on rather than blinking once and going out. On most remotes that takes three to five seconds. If it never stays lit, the batteries are usually too weak to hold setup mode.
What does the indicator blinking twice mean?
Two blinks is the standard confirmation that a code has been accepted and stored. A single long blink, or no blink at all, means the code was rejected — usually because it is the wrong length for that remote.
Can I pair more than one device to the same remote?
Yes. Each device key stores its own code independently, so you can program TV, AUD and SAT keys to three different devices. Programming one does not disturb the others.
How do I clear a code I stored by mistake?
Re-program that device key with the correct code — the new code overwrites the old one. To clear every key and start fresh, use the reset sequence for your remote.
