How to reset Vizio TV

Vizio's reset menu has changed across generations. The examples below are documented in the M7-Series and D32h-E4 manuals; use the one that matches your screen and check your model manual if neither does.

Restart before erasing your setup
- If your TV has Admin & Privacy, open Menu → Admin & Privacy → Reboot TV.
- Let the TV turn off and back on, then check the original problem.

02 · Factory reset
How to factory reset Vizio TV
Before you confirm
Factory reset removes your customised TV settings, including picture and wireless settings on the M7-Series. Older V.I.A. models also lose added apps and their settings. Keep your network and account details available for setup.
Admin & Privacy (M7-Series example)
Menu → Admin & Privacy → Reset to Factory Settings
- Enter your system PIN if you set one.
- Select Reset and press OK.

Reset & Admin (D32h-E4 example)
Menu → System → Reset & Admin → Reset TV to Factory Defaults
- Supply the parental-control PIN if requested.
- Highlight Reset and press OK.
After the reset
Wait for the TV to restart and open its setup screen. Restore the preferences you need afterward.
Frequently asked questions
Is Reboot TV the same as a factory reset?
No. Reboot TV restarts the system. Reset to Factory Settings is the separate option that clears your customised settings.
Why is Reset & Admin missing on my Vizio?
The menu label varies by generation. Check for Admin & Privacy, or use the manual for your model if the interface differs from both examples.
