How to factory reset NVIDIA SHIELD TV

Before you confirm

Factory reset wipes local data and device settings. Save anything you need first; data associated with your Google account can be recovered.

Device Preferences menu

Settings → Device Preferences → Reset

  1. Open this menu, select Reset, then Erase everything to confirm.

Older Storage & reset menu

Settings → Storage & reset → Factory data reset

  1. Select Factory data reset again, then Erase everything.
  2. NVIDIA's older guide allows 50–70 minutes, and up to two hours for a full reset of the 500 GB Pro. These timings are not a promise for newer models.
