How to reset Google Pixel

Use the restart controls that match your Pixel generation. Factory reset is a separate operation for starting over, and removes the phone's local data.

Restart before erasing your setup

  1. On Pixel 6 and later, including Fold, hold Power and Volume up briefly, then tap Restart.
  2. For an older Pixel, use Power to open the power menu, turn it off, then hold Power to turn it on again. For an unresponsive Pixel, Google's force-restart instructions say to hold Power for up to 60 seconds, releasing at the G logo.
