How to reset Samsung remote

Sources checked · how we check

Samsung documents different resets for battery-powered remotes and solar remotes supplied with 2021 or newer televisions. Use the method for your handset, not just the year printed on the TV.

01 · Start here

Before resetting your device

  1. Check for stuck buttons. Replace weak batteries or charge a solar remote before trying again.

If the device still does not work

To pair a Smart Remote, stand within one foot of the TV and hold Return plus Play/Pause for at least five seconds, until the connection message appears. If pairing fails, unplug the TV for 30 seconds and retry; contact Samsung if it still fails.

After the reset

Test the TV controls and any external-device controls you use.
