How to connect a Brother printer to Wi-Fi
Sources checked · how we check
Brother machines join a network in two ways: the one-push WPS method, or the Setup Wizard, where you pick your network on the machine and type the password. Both end with Connected on the display.
01 · Before you start
Check these first
- Turn the printer on and have your network name and password to hand.
- For WPS, find the WPS button on your wireless access point or router.

WPS: models with a touchscreen
Settings → All Settings → Network → WLAN → WPS
- Go to Settings → All Settings → Network → WLAN → WPS, and confirm the network interface switch if asked.

Setup Wizard: choose the network on the machine

- Press Menu, then 6 (Network), 2 (WLAN), 2 (Setup Wizard). If asked WLAN Enable?, press 1 (On).
- The machine searches and lists networks. Press the arrows to show your network name, then press OK.
- Enter your network key and press OK, then press 1 (Yes) to apply the settings.

If it still won't connect
If the display shows Connection Fail or Wrong Password, check the network key. Brother notes the machine supports WPA2-PSK with AES, so a network using WPA2-PSK with TKIP gives a Connection Fail error. The machine also prints a WLAN report after the attempt, which shows what went wrong.
Frequently asked questions
