Check these first
- Connect the TV to the internet: it's needed to check for and download updates.
- Don't turn the TV off until the update has finished.

If the setting doesn't change
If a Samsung TV won't find an update, check it's connected to the internet. For a USB update, the drive must be empty and FAT32 formatted, with the update files copied straight onto it rather than into a folder. Leave the TV on until the update completes.
