02 · Change the setting
Step by step, by device
Instagram app for Android and iPhone
Profile → Menu → Account type and tools → Account type → Switch to personal account
- Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right, then Menu in the top right. You may also need to tap Settings.
- Tap Account type and tools, then Account type, then Switch account type.
- Tap Switch to personal account, then Switch to personal to confirm.

If the setting doesn't change
If you rely on Meta Business Suite or Meta Ads Manager, note that Instagram says you'll lose access to some of those tools after switching to a personal account. Public accounts keep Your dashboard and insights.
