How to reset HP printer Wi-Fi

HP's Wi-Fi setup mode restores the network default settings so the printer can join a network again. It stays on for two hours, so have the HP app ready.

Before resetting your device
- Press Cancel (or any button on Smart Tank printers) to wake the printer and put it in a ready state before starting.

Reset and reconnect your HP printer Wi-Fi
Before you start
Restoring Wi-Fi setup mode clears the printer's current network settings. Computers and phones will need to add the printer again.
Printers with a touchscreen
Setup or Wireless → Network setup or Settings → Restore Network Settings
- Touch Restore Network Settings and confirm with Yes if asked.
- Wait 60 seconds until the Wireless light blinks blue.
DeskJet 2700–2900, 4100–4300, Ultra 4800, 4900
Wireless + Cancel · 5 seconds
- Hold Wireless and Cancel together for five seconds until the Power button starts blinking.
- Wait until the blue Wireless light blinks continuously.
DeskJet Plus 6000, 6400, ENVY 6000, 6400
Wireless button on the back · 5 seconds
- Hold the Wireless button on the back for five seconds. Wait for the Status light to turn purple.
HP Laser 100, 300, 1003, 1008, Color Laser 150
Wireless · 20 seconds
- Hold Wireless for 20 seconds until the Attention and Power lights blink, then wait 60 seconds.
Smart Tank 210, 580, 5100, 670, 720, 750, 6000, 7000, 7300
Information 5 s → Wireless + Cancel 5 s
- Hold Information for five seconds until the control panel buttons light.
- Hold Wireless and Cancel for five seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks blue.
Smart Tank 510 skips the Information step: hold Wireless and Cancel for five seconds.
LaserJet M207–M212, MFP M232–M237 and LaserJet Tank
Information 5 s → Wireless + Cancel
- Hold Information for five seconds until the buttons light, then press Wireless and Cancel together.
- Wait 60 seconds until Wireless blinks blue or the Status light pulses purple.
After the reset
Within two hours, open the HP app or software to find and add the printer.
