How to reset AV receiver

AV receivers do not share a reset sequence. The worked example below is Denon AVR-X1800H; other models need their own manuals.

01 · Start here

Before resetting your device

  1. Try restarting the receiver before factory reset, as Denon recommends.
  2. Record the model and save its configuration before choosing an erasing option.

02 · Reset and reconnect

Reset and reconnect your AV receiver

Before you start

All Settings clears configuration. Use Denon's Save & Load feature beforehand if you want a saved configuration to restore.

Power + TUNER PRESET CH + and −

  1. Turn off the receiver using its power button.
  2. Press Power while holding both TUNER PRESET CH buttons. Release them when Initialized appears.

If the device still does not work

Do not confuse a settings reset with Factory Restore firmware recovery. Use the matching receiver manual for persistent faults.

After the reset

Configure the receiver again or restore your saved configuration.
