How to factory reset Alexa device
Before you confirm
A factory reset erases the device's setup. Deregistering is a separate step that removes it from your Amazon account.
Echo Show: Settings menu
Settings → Device Options → About this Device → Reset to Factory Defaults
- Open Settings: say “Go to Settings”, or select Menu → Settings with Alexa+, or swipe down from the top and select Settings with the original Alexa.
- Select Reset to Factory Defaults. Echo Show (2nd Gen) and Echo Show 10 also offer a reset that retains smart home device connections.
Remove it from your Amazon account
amazon.com/mydevices → choose device → Deregister
- Sign in at amazon.com/mydevices, choose the device and select Deregister.
- It loses access to your account, purchased content and Amazon services until it is registered again.
After the reset
Set the device up again before using it, or register it again if you deregistered it.
