How to connect to Wi-Fi
Sources checked · how we check
Every device joins Wi-Fi the same way: open its Wi-Fi settings, choose the network name and enter the password. The steps below show where that is on each system.
01 · Before you start
Check these first
- Have the network's name and password ready. You might be asked for the password, or to agree to terms and conditions.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on on the device.
02 · Connect
Step by step, by device
iPhone or iPad
Settings → Wi-Fi → network name → password
- In Settings, tap Wi-Fi, then turn on Wi-Fi. Your device searches for available networks.

- Tap a listed network. Networks that need a password show a lock icon.

If it still won't connect
Check Wi-Fi is turned on and Airplane mode is off. Forget the network and reconnect by selecting it and entering the password again. If nothing on the network connects, restart the router and modem: unplug their power, wait at least 30 seconds, and plug them back in.
