How to connect a wireless mouse to a Windows laptop
Sources checked · how we check
Wireless mice connect in one of two ways: with a small USB receiver you plug into the laptop, or by Bluetooth with no receiver. Some Logitech mice can do both.
01 · Before you start
Check these first
- Turn the mouse over and switch it on. The switch is on the bottom.
- Check whether your mouse came with a USB receiver. If it didn't, it connects by Bluetooth.

Step by step, by device
With a USB receiver
Switch the mouse on → plug the receiver into a USB port
- Switch the mouse on.
- Plug the wireless receiver into a USB port on the laptop. The mouse should now be connected.
- If it doesn't connect, press and hold the Easy-Switch button on the bottom of the mouse for 3 seconds. When the light blinks, the mouse is ready to pair.
These are Logitech's steps for its receiver mice.

If it still won't connect
Make sure the mouse is on, has fresh batteries or is charged, and is in range of the laptop. Check Airplane mode is off, and turn Bluetooth off and on again. If a Bluetooth mouse still won't work, remove it in Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices and pair it again.
